1971 Campervan
Comprehensive history of services and repairs, including a remanufactured engine from VEGE back in 2017. Only 2000miles since. We have some original spare parts including a memory foam mattress for the rock n roll bed! Unfortunately ill health forces sale.

5m BCT Canvas Bell Tent
We're selling our camping set up, see ad for our Italian Early Bay and ad for our Westfalia Essen trailer…
So we're also parting with our 5m bell tent. This is a fantastic tent, made by BCT Outdoors see - https://www.bctshop.co.uk/ The fabric is fully breathable, its light and airy. To buy this tent today would cost circa £1300. The tent has a zip in ground sheet. When unzipped the sides of the tent can be rolled up creating a large sun shade! https://www.bctshop.co.uk/products/bell-tent Tent measures 5000mm length and width; 2700mm height at centre; 600mm wall height; There are 3 mesh windows with outer covers in the tent wall. Tent comes with purpose made tent bag for storage. When we bought it we opted for the wooden inner tent pole which was an optional extra. We also bought their Bell Tent Canopy, would cost £245 today - https://www.bctshop.co.uk/bell-tent-canopy We bought extra poles to give added flexibility when putting the canopy sides up. Canopy comes with purpose made bag for storage. The tent and canopy have heavy weight rope guide ropes with wood runners for a traditional look. There are wooden tent pegs supplied when the tent was purchased. Additionally we bought Lomo heavy tent pegs. These are manufactured from 10mm galvanised rebar, they're extremely strong and resistant to bending. Each peg is 10mm thick and 30cm long. Great for difficult stoney ground conditions. Also included are two purpose made semi circular coir carpets that cover / protect the ground sheet. Straight forward to put up…can be done single handed with a bit of practice! Great set up and always receives wonderful comments, will be sad to see it go, but time for a change…

Westfalia Essen Trailer
late 60s early 70s
We're selling our camping set up, see ad for our Italian Early Bay and ad for our 5m BCT Bell Tent…below
So we're also parting with our Westfalia Essen trailer. We bought this circa 2010 to tow behind our Bay. The trailer can be stored upright by rolling the trailer up on curved supports on the rear of the trailer, see photos. When we bought the trailer it needed restoring. All the timber was removed and carefully cleaned and varnished to preserve the trailers originality and patina and where possible the original manufacturers stickers. The metal frame was stripped and painted to match our bus. The trailer has two lids. 1) the wooden lid with the metal frame which matches the appearance of the Westfalia replica roof rack on our bus. 2) a hood frame and cover which can be used instead of the wooden lid Additionally theres a spare wheel which is slung underneath the trailer in an original purpose made spare wheel carrier. The trailer has an original support leg which allows the trailer to stand level. All electrics in working order. This is a great little trailer…will be sad to see it go, but time for a change…

1969 Early Bay - Italian model - more detail and price drop
We've owned it since 2008 and have the original Italian log book and handbook. Used regularly and subject to regular service and maintenance. Has had three resprays following the usual body repairs.
There are a few areas that would need attention to get it looking its best. Kept in the original light grey, theres original paint in the interior.
The last body work and respray was 2022; this included painting the wheels the same as the bumpers and the hub caps in the body colour.
Last year we replaced the original rear splash pans as they had rotted, the new ones were painted to match the bumper.
Van has a front disc brake conversion, heated front and rear screens, rear fog and reversing light, and sliding side windows.
Originally a crew bus van has a bench seat in the front, we've added two inertia seatbelts and one lap belt. We kept the rear interior simple, just adding a rock and roll bed, which also has two inertia seatbelts and one lap belt - we have the original two bench seats. Newton Commercial provided red seat covers throughout and matching interior panels, as you would expect these are a little faded in places. We added a small wooden cabinet which has two drop down doors, big enough hold a small camping stove and a larger storage box, these are against the bulkhead. These were made to measure -by a cabinet maker The storage box can be used as a seat, this holds a table leg, the table top is stored out of the way between the back of the storage box and the bulkhead.
The interior roof was fitted with Westfalia roof supports so a plywood roof liner could be fitted.
We've replaced the gear shift rod, selector shaft and bushes which improved the gear change.
The bus had a mild lower in 2008 by turning the front beam with adjustable spring plates on the rear. The shock absorbers were all changed then. The front brake conversion to disc brakes was completed in 2023. At that time we also added a heavy duty anti roll bar and put new KYB shock absorbers all round. In 2024 we fitted new rear brake shoes, wheel cylinders, wheel bearings and drums.
The roof has a Westfalia replica 4 bow roof rack.
Van has nice neat period towbar which has been professionally wired.
As we've decided to sell our van we're also selling our camping set up this includes our Westfalia Essen trailer and our 5m bell tent, made by BCT Outdoors Ltd, which has coir matting, and an awning. Happy to discuss prices for these.
