1969 Early Bay - Italian model

We've owned it since 2008 and have the original Italian log book and handbook. Used regularly and subject to regular service and maintenance. Has had three resprays following the usual body repairs.

There are a few areas that would need attention to get it looking its best. Kept in the original light grey, theres original paint in the interior.

The last body work and respray was 2022; this included painting the wheels the same as the bumpers and the hub caps in the body colour.

Last year we replaced the original rear splash pans as they had rotted, the new ones were painted to match the bumper.

Van has a front disc brake conversion, heated front and rear screens, rear fog and reversing light, and sliding side windows.

Originally a crew bus van has a bench seat in the front, we've added two inertia seatbelts and one lap belt. We kept the rear interior simple, just adding a rock and roll bed, which also has two inertia seatbelts and one lap belt - we have the original two bench seats. Newton Commercial provided red seat covers throughout and matching interior panels, as you would expect these are a little faded in places. We added a small wooden cabinet which has two drop down doors, big enough hold a small camping stove and a larger storage box, these are against the bulkhead. These were made to measure -by a cabinet maker The storage box can be used as a seat, this holds a table leg, the table top is stored out of the way between the back of the storage box and the bulkhead.

The interior roof was fitted with Westfalia roof supports so a plywood roof liner could be fitted.

We've replaced the gear shift rod, selector shaft and bushes which improved the gear change.

The bus had a mild lower in 2008 by turning the front beam with adjustable spring plates on the rear. The shock absorbers were all changed then. The front brake conversion to disc brakes was completed in 2023. At that time we also added a heavy duty anti roll bar and put new KYB shock absorbers all round. In 2024 we fitted new rear brake shoes, wheel cylinders, wheel bearings and drums.

The roof has a Westfalia replica 4 bow roof rack.
